Why We Go
Savannah and riverine forest on the Omo, home of the Mursi people.
Around 770 kilometres southwest of Addis Ababa, Mago National Park is mainly grass savannah with forest along its rivers. Some 56 species of mammals have been recorded, including buffalo, giraffe, elephant, lion, leopard and gerenuk, although wildlife is shy and best regarded as a bonus.
Most travellers visit Mago to meet the Mursi, whose villages lie within and around the park.
